Sooo...I love you

“Car!” I turned around and saw CJ hurrying towards me. He stopped suddenly in front of me and paused to catch his breath. “Hone, you okay?” I had come to love calling him that, we’d only been dating for two weeks but he was mine, my hone. He had his right arm hidden behind his back. “What are you hiding, CJ.” I said trying to look behind him but he turned to the side to shield it from me. I raised my eyebrows at him. “ Look, Car, I’ve…well I’ve never done this before…I’ve never said this to anyone before, it’s never been true enough and now I’m just babbling,” CJ looked at his shoes; I wanted to tell him how confused I was but he started talking again. “I’m just gonna say it…uh, sooo…” he looked back up at me and blurted “I love you!” and pulled a bouquet of pink flowers out from behind his back and thrust them at me nervously. I stood there, mouth open and shell-shocked, he looked worried. “Did I say it too soon?” he asked “I’m sorry, I just couldn’t help it anymo-ump…mmmm.” His words were shushed because I slammed myself against him and kissed him hard. I pulled away gripping the red t-shirt that clashed terribly with his ginger hair “You couldn’t have said it sooner,” I said “I’ve been wanting you to say it since we were eight so…” I said glancing at the flowers squished between our bodies. “I guess I’m a few years late…well I guess I’m half our lives late.” I smiled and took the flowers from him. “It doesn’t matter, I love you, these are beautiful, I love you so much, I-mmmm” And this time he was the one to shut me up. I peeled myself off his face after a minute. “Well, Love, I hate to part from you, it breaks my heart into a million pieces and burns like the sunburn of a thousand red-hot suns on my pale white-boy skin, but I must get class.” He said holding me close. “Well if you must.” I laughed and smirked and then pecked his lips. “Alright, bye Hone.” I muttered and wiggled my way out of his grasp because even though he suggested it he didn’t want to let me go. I started to walk and heard footsteps coming after me. CJ grabbed my hand and I turned back around. “I love you.” He said; I smiled. “And I you.” I said and pecked his lips again. “I’ll see you next period.” He smiled. “Alright Love, till then.” I squeezed his hand “Try not to get burned too bad by those suns, I like my ginger boyfriend to stay away from red as much as possible, it’s not a good look for him.” CJ looked down “My mom got me this shirt.” He said “Yeah, she should stay away from it too.” He laughed and kissed me again before walking to his class. I tried to pay attention during biology but all I was thinking was: he loves me.
